== Overview ==

The snake (蛇 Hebi?) is the midboss for stages one and two in Evil Night. Appearing in the mansion, it is the first boss encountered in the game.

== Background ==

The snake is first encountered when the floor collapses beneath [[Evil Night Arcade - Henry Jones|Henry Jones]], [[Evil Night Arcade - Alicia Sevigny|Alicia Sevigny]], and [[Evil Night Arcade - Joe Hamilton|Joe Hamilton]]. They fall into a large room in which the snake reveals itself, smashing the mansion roof. Following a battle, it sustains numerous bullets to the head and neck and dies. A limbless zombie with a ball and chain then emerges from its body.

Later in the mansion, the snake reappears--this time with a more bony and off-color appearance, implying that it survived the first encounter. Henry yells at Alicia and Joe to aim at the snake's head. The snake grabbed and devoured several zombies before retreating through a hole in the roof. As the trio proceed to the upper floors of the mansion, the snake crashes through a wall for a final attack; when finally killed, its head smashes and breaks the floor, causing the three cops to fall into a library.

== Trivia ==

*The Giant Snake can be seen in the mural depicting Liv as a goddess.
*The Giant Snake resembles the giant cobra, called Yawn, in Resident Evil (1996). It also resembles the extinct giant snakes Titanoboa, Gigantophis and Sanajeh
*Snakes are generally the symbols of evil and deceit as depicted in the Bible, were the serpent tricks Adam and Eve into eating the Fruit of Knowledge.
